Today is the day.

Yep that is right. I just took my "Chantix" pill. (the quit smoking drug) I decided yesterday, that today is the day. I'm a bit nautious right now, but had some cereal and am hoping this passes. I really don't even know if I am ready to do this. But, I need to for myself and for Hunter. I really do want to be around a lot longer for my baby. I can smoke for the first week or so while taking this and it should start to taste bad, and really just not want to smoke. So, please. . .wish me luck, keep your fingers crossed and pray for me. I really hope I can do this. The doc. asked me the other day, "How many years have you been smoking??" Um. . . 13. Holy crap! It is time.

I quit about 4 years ago. Something that I found EXTREMELY helpful was Quit Plan. There is great advice and lots of people going through what you are. Check it out.

The other thing I did that was probably the most important to me; every time I had a craving I would just keep repeating (to myself) - "I will never smoke again."

To make sure this works, you can never smoke again. Not one slip. Once you allow one, you can justify another.

Good luck!

Good luck dear. I am so proud of you and Hunter will be too one day when she realizes what you did. And your next goal will be to teach her to stay away from them too!!

I will do anything you need to help you. You just have to let me know!

Do you know if Amy is having a boy or a girl?? I can't remember if we know yet? I'm thinking of just sending her a gift cause I'm not sure we will be going up that day... the gas is a killer driving all the way to Blaine and we're broke. I'd really like to go but sometimes you've gotta do what you've gotta do I guess, and the gas would cost more than my gift or my contribution to a gift!!

Tanya-

It is so awesome that you are going to quit the smokes. Your lungs will be so happy. I know you can do it. I see people all the time who can barely breath and do anything, even go to the toilet, without being short of breath. I know you have the will power to do this. I am here anytime if you need me.

AWESOME!!! Congrats on taking the step to actually take the pill. It took/takes a lot of courage to quit smoking, and you will be happy you did!

Stay strong!!! The first few weeks are the hardest! I was feeling kinda sick for the first few weeks and I noticed that if I ate, then drank a WHOLE glass of water, I was fine, and have been fine since. Water is the key to kick the sick feeling. You can do this!!! And if you can kick this, you can do anything!!! (Cigs are harder to kick then herion if that tells you anything.) What worked for me is I made a promise to someone that I would never do it again. Make a promise to Hunter that you will never smoke again (well, after you have picked your quit date), then if you get the urge, you just feel guility and don't do it. That was the only thing for me that really helped get me thru....my promises to other people.

You can do it!!! Good luck!!!
